Instructions:

In order to replace the spoiler on your own, follow the steps:

  • Scratch off the any dirt or paint from the surface of the spoiler.
  • Have a closer look of the damaged area and look for dent, creases, scratches or cracks. You can use your hand to feel the depth of the dent on the spoiler’s surface.
  • Now you have to unfasten the mounting bolts on each of the side of the boiler to take it out of the vehicle.
  • You can either use a new pre-primed spoiler or repair the old one. This depends on the damage done to the old spoiler. If the damage is repairable, you can repair it.
  • If you opt for repair work, then you have to prepare the old spoiler well before reinstalling it.
  • Take damp 600 grit sandpaper and use it for removing any dirt, debris, grease or dust from the spoiler’s surface.
  • Apply primer to the damaged area and allow it to dry. Once it is dry, sand it again.
  • Use a basecoat of paint on the spoiler and later apply a thin, clear coat of paint and leave it to dry for some time.
  • Once the paint is dry, have a look on the paint surface and see whether there is any dirt or nibs stuck in the paint job.
  • For large dirt particles, use razor blade.
  • With the help of spray bottle, spray soapy water on the minor dirt particles.
  • Take 1500 grit sandpaper soaked in soapy water, sand the surface in a circular motion with slight pressure.
  • Replace 1500 grit paper with 2000 grit paper and repeat the same process.
  • In order to eliminate the swirl marks, apply compound polish to the spoiler.
  • Your spoiler is ready now and you can reinstall it by reversing the process.

Follow the directions given below to replace the front bumper cover easily:

  • You have to take the front wheel well liners off so that you can access the bolts holding the bumper.
  • Take a new front bumper cover and make sure that it is pre-primed because it is stronger against corrosion and possesses strong paint adhesive properties. If you choose an unprimed bumper cover, you need to paint it first before installing.
  • You may need to sand the whole bumper cover to make it free from debris, dirt or other contaminants. Use 600-grit wet sandpaper for this task.
  • Now use a basecoat of paint on the whole front bumper cove and leave it to dry for sometime.
  • Once the basecoat is dry, apply the clear coat of the paint.
  • Once the paint is dry, examine the surface for any nibs or dirt particles stuck in the paint.
  • Use the razor blade to remove the dirt particles from the paint surface.
  • Take a spray bottle and fill it with soapy water. Spray on the surface where dirt is accumulated.
  • Now, take 1500 grit sandpaper soaked in soapy water sand the surface by applying slight pressure.
  • Use circular motions while sanding the surface. Replace the sandpaper with 2000 grit soaked sandpaper and repeat the circular motion.
  • Now mix some alcohol with water and use this mixture to clean the surface.
  • To remove the swirl marks of sanding, apply compound polish to the surface.
  • Now you are ready to install the bumper cover back to its position. Replace the damaged clips and retainers.

  • First of all, switch off the engine and find the power steering fluid reservoir under the hood. Mostly these reservoirs are connected to the power steering with a hose. In case, you can’t find the reservoir, please consult your vehicle manual to get the exact location.
  • Once you have found the reservoir, check the fluid level with the marks (marks are on the side of reservoir). Fluid level varies according to the temperature so, make sure you are checking the correct market. In case the reserviour is not translucent and without marks, open the cap to check the level. Usually, there’s a stick on the underside of the cap, which should have two fill lines cut into it.
  • If you see dark fluid, open the cap of reservoir to check for contamination. You might need to change the fluid in this case.
  • In case, the fluid level is low, pour the manufacturer’s recommended power steering fluid.
